SNOWY RIDE 5th NOVEMBER 2011 THREDBO N.S.W.

Every year hundreds of motorcycles head south for the annual Snowy Ride.

Set with a backdrop of the mountains it's a great weekend to meet other bikers and explore the area.

Originaly started in 2001 this event has grown bigger and bigger over the years, there are various places to stay and last year Cooma put on a street party for riders on the Friday night.

From Thredbo to Cooma there is heaps of accomodation and you can be shure there will be other bikers around.

20th BOMBALA BIKE SHOW SATURDAY THE 19th NOV 2011 BOMBALA N.S.W.

Wow, it doesn't seem like twenty years since the Bombala boy's put on their first show in the RSL.

From humble beginnings in the main street and behind the pub's it has now grown to a full scale spectacle at the showground.

Entertainment onsite as well as bar and camping facilities, lot's to do all weekend with things happening from Friday onwards.

This year a 1979 Triumph Bonniville 750 will be raffled off to some lucky biker so get your tickets!!!

Bombala is sister city to Sturgis USA and the commitee had the vision of making Bombala bike show a Sturgis like affair, help them make it come true by making the trip each year.

There is a lot more to experience in the area than just the show, some great roads for riding.....little pubs.....small towns.....all within a couple of hours from Bombala.

Jindabyne area now host's two local brewery's and a distillery so you can sample some local produce or even take it home. The road between Ando and Dalgety is now tar and from Bombala it's easy acess to the mountains.

So polish your bike, roll your swag and tell your ol'lady there's a road trip on and she can come if she want's!!

The boy's trued up a wheel for me after I broke some spokes on a trip and they were more than helpful.

Get in and support local shops because you can't get a wheel trued or a tyre fitted on line!!!

If you are anywhere near Stanthorpe Qld get yourself over to Suttons Cidery and juice factory.

Cider is made on site from apples grown out the back, Cider is excellent!!! and also apple brandy!!

Tastings on site and apple pie that you can't get your mouth around.

Take some home!!

SHELL ROADHOUSE TEXAS QLD

This place makes a hamburger straight out of the past a "whopper". Clean and friendly a great place to stop.

STOCKMANS HOTEL TEXAS QLD

A great Queensland border town pub, Bobby the manager will make you more than welcome and owners Jack and Helen are great hosts. Icy cold beer, meals and accommodation make Texas a worthwhile stop.

MILLMERRAN BAKERY QLD

Just had a pie but it was excellent, definitely worth a stop.

Inverell Caravan park, Glen Innes rd Inverell N.S.W.

Great little caravan park with clean tidy cabins inc tea coffee and soap. excellent value and nice people.

Wellington Caravan park Mitchell Hwy N.S.W.

From the Molong side its on the right entering town and from Dubbo its on the left as you leave. $60dbl with tea, coffee and soap very clean but cabins are knocked around still good value though.

Cunninghams Caravan park Coolah N.S.W.

Well this one is a beauty!! large clean cabins, tea,coffee and soap in a great setting. Locals are friendly and a top little town. Call in and say hi.

Cowra Caravan Park Cowra N.S.W.

Ok, the cabin was clean but it's B.Y.O. coffee, tea, and soap. If it's cold ask for an extra blanket because the cupboards are bare. Still it's a good stop, Ulysses discount applied.

Moree mineral spring baths Moree N.S.W.

If you have never experienced these baths then do it!!!!! part of the great artisan bore, the temperature is 38 deg and if you have any injuries over the years then you'll feel great after Moree.

Country Coffee House Queen st Barraba N.S.W.

Great coffee and top quality scones (just like grans) stop in and say hi.

BARRABA BAKERY QUEEN ST BARRABA N.S.W.

If you can't go past a pie shop then this one is worth a stop, doesn't look much but the pies were GOOD!!!

DRAKE N.S.W.

As you pass between Tenterfield and Casino there is a little servo and store, inside you will find the best home made sausage rolls I have ever tasted.

POT BELLY PIES WOODBURN N.S.W.

There is one thing about the north of N.S.W. it's hard to get a bad pie!!

These pies are exactly what they say pot bellied, you could eat them with a spoon.

Located on the main drag opposite the river.

ILUKA N.S.W.

Two bakerys are located in Iluka and both are worth sampling.

Grab a cold schooner at the old pub while your there, definately worth the ride in.

WOMBAH N.S.W.

On your way into Iluka is Wombah and there is a pieman there, its a classic where you walk right into the bakery John likes a yarn and his pies were good too.

Just down the road you will find Wombah coffee, stop in and sample the local brew and cakes.

EBOR FALLS HOTEL MOTEL EBOR N.S.W.

Located at the top of the range from Grafton to Armidale is Ebor, a great little pub with an excellent motel.

We arrived just on darkness and this little pub was a welcome sight, make sure your tank is full as it's a long way between fuel stops both ways

Peter and his family run the place and his missus does an awsome crumbed cutlet, beer is good as well!!

Ebor falls are just down the road and are truly worth a visit.

TATHRA HOTEL N.S.W.

Traveling down the south coast turn left at Cobargo and head for Bermaguie, the road hugs the coast and passes through Tathra. The pub has a large veranda which overlooks the ocean and is great for lunch, beer is good and so is the road.

Bar beach Merimbula N.S.W.

If you like a swim in the ocean this is a top spot! located on the headland just down from the aquarium its best with the tide coming in or high. Protected from the nor easter it can be crowded in high summer but it's a great place for a dip!!!

Blue pool Bermaguie N.S.W.

Once again located on the headland sort of up to the right of the pub it's a great spot, a large saltwater pool with a natural bottom. Its a walk down so make sure your gear is secure but its worth the trip.
